Ive been using it since it started

Ive hated the apps sometimes, but now is all working perfectly and its the best gadget I ever used! For people who travel, specially overseas its a must have. I also watch everyday at home and I can hang out with my son while hes watching something else on TV. (I watch a different box but I can stay in the same room)

Not Updated for iPhone Plus

App hasnt been updated for iPhone Plus, which first came out over two years ago.

Great

Love this app. Can watch wherever I want. Perfect for people that are always on the go.

Not working well

Buffers then freezes on my iPhone 6s with iOS 10. The airplay also goes in and out. Would be so much better if you just had an app for the Apple tv4. Please fix or better yet make an app for Apple TV

My Review of Slingbox

My advice regarding the Slingbox: DO NOT BUY !!!! This is one of the most ridiculous products ever developed. Its poorly designed, which causes this product to constantly fail .It is very " user" unfriendly . Every time it is used, it fails , and has technical glitches. Once your 1year warranty has passed, Slingbox makes you pay a fee for each problem that occurs , when you call in for technical support. When they asked you to post a review, your only choice to rate this product, is a 5 star rating, you cannot post any lower star rating. If I had a choice, I would give this product 1 star, at best. I would recommend any potential buyer , NOT TO BUY !!!

Fantastic app!

Great program. Used it for several years now. Works on my iPhone6 and iPad. Only time I see buffering is when the hotel has low wifi signal. Even then if I let it finish buffering, I can watch my shows with no problem. Nice that it also works on 4G.

Excess battery usage

On iPhone 5s 30 minutes of usage uses half the battery. This is a new change. Not welcome at all.

Now supports AirPlay to Apple TV!

AirPlay on the Apple TV 4 is flakey. It works and cuts out until you restart all devices. This needs to be fixed. It would be nice if they just built an app for the Apple TV.

products implementation flawed

a fundamentally great idea with hilariously terrible implementation. so bad, it suggests that the developer was someone who had never seen a tv, and was not given any test equipment. as someone with more then tangental understanding of this problem, given a properly funded development team with good engineers, an appropriate set of test vectors and good customer feedback mechanisms this would be an amazing product. I wish I could recommend an alternative.

SD problem and broken app feedback

While the app works as advertised for the most part, and I am happy to pay a little to avoid seeing advertising, the recent update introduced a pair of very annoying problems: (1) Switching to SD video from auto (HD) inverts the colors from a Y/Pr/Pb connection (that is Pr/Pb cables need to be swapped when switching from HD to SD). (2) The link provided in the app to “Send Sling Feedback” scrolls-away the “send” button as soon as you start to type. So as there appears to be no other way to be in contact with Sling about problems, there is no longer a way to send them feedback. Hoping a lukewarm review might garner a little attention.

Does not work right with chromecast 2.

Ive used this with a Roku stick, a roku box, 2 different chromecast 1s and 2 different Apple tvs. No issues whatsoever until I bought 2 chromecast 2s. After between 30 and 180 seconds of streaming in perfect HD, all of the sudden the 16x9 video is squished up to the top half of the screen. The bottom half is just wavy lines. The audio starts cutting in and out as well. After about 30 seconds of this, the stream completely dies. No other devices besides the chromecast 2s have this issue. I now have no use for my chromecast 2s, which is a shame as they have a much faster connection to my wifi than the chromecast 1s did in the same locations.

Roku streaming stick support problems

Seems to work fine with the newer 3500 Roku sticks, but cant get it to work with the older 3400X Roku Ready MHL stick (which is the one I need). Did it ever work? When did it stop if it did?

Terrible interface

Works great through laptop, but iPad and iPhone app interface is terrible.

Does not work on iPhone

I cant connect on my computer, but no luck on my iPhone. Tells me my user login is invalid and then suggest me opening a new account. Even when I try to open a new account - it gives me an error. Very frustrating! Almost willing to give up on Slingbox completely. Hopefully, the cable companies will keep increasing their capabilities in this area and make Slingbox obsolete.

Loyal Fan

I have owned a sling box since the original unit came out almost ten years ago. I have a job which has serious down time in far away locations. I recently upgraded to the new box and have never ever had a problem with this unit or the older unit ( which I gave to my brother). I love the fact that I can go online anywhere and see my home TV and in HD with such a clear and consistent picture. I would recommend and have recommended this product to everyone. It is worth every penny.

Works great!

Watch your TV anywhere on your iPhone or iPad! Recently converted to DIRECTV and needed a $5 cable from Amazon to make it work. Great option for parents when traveling.
